When cars virtually disappeared from our streets during the shelter-in-place, we saw just how much quicker public transit can be when there’s no traffic: 15% time savings systemwide, up to 50% along some corridors. Notably, bus routes with red lanes didn’t change much, meaning transit-only lanes work.
Sign below to tell Mayor Breed, the Board of Supervisors, and the SFMTA: We support a dramatic expansion of pilot transit-only lanes.
We need to continue to protect Muni from traffic now, before riders are stranded by punishing traffic congestion again.
With transit-only lanes:
We need transit-only lane pilot projects as soon as possible across the city, to provide reliable, efficient service for all riders, to help reduce crowding, and to maximize Muni's resources. We urge robust rider engagement as the pilot projects are underway to develop the best transit priority network possible.

You're part of a growing voice for transit riders in San Francisco.
We will all need to speak up and show up for public transit more than ever in the coming days, weeks, months, and years, to make sure we have the efficient, affordable, and accessible system needed for a stronger and more sustainable Bay Area.
Thanks for all you do.
